UT is one of the leading universities in the north-west region of KSA. Its major vision is to offer a distinguished university education that prepares university graduates with the knowledge, capabilities, and skills needed by the community and developmental projects in the Tabuk region within an exceptional education and administrative environment that promotes innovative research.

In the era where all aspects of advanced computing technologies are happening, the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology (FCIT) at the University of Tabuk is making its way towards excellence, progress and prosperity.

UNIVERSITY OF TABUK

The foundation of University of Tabuk in (2006 G /1427 L) is a clear representation of the bold vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdulla Bin Abdul-Aziz, God bless his soul. This vision revolves around spreading higher education all over the Kingdom. Currently, there are 16 faculties at the university, with females representing 40% and both male and female students exceeding 36,000.

The university seeks to be a beacon of knowledge in all fields of education and development. As for the main campus, it is located in Tabuk city in the northwest of the Kingdom. Based on the university of Tabuk's commitment to serving the region, many branches of the university have been constructed in the near provinces.

The university has a complete administrative system that comprises five Vice-Rectorships and sixteen faculties as well as University Colleges in Duba, Alwajh, Umluj, Haql and Tayma in addition to the Faculty of Tourism that is to be inaugurated in Alwajh Province very soon. Besides different deanships, the university also includes several institutes and centers like: Institute of Research and Consultancy, Sensor Networks and Cellular Systems Research Center, Center for Research in Renewable Energy, Center for Industrial Innovations and Robotics, and the English Language Center. The campus is 12 million sqm of land, and the university went a long way in achieving the University City Project. In its goal to support creative research and contributing to enrich the knowledge economy, University of Taluk provides a huge range of support for its staff and students for research, ranging from help acquiring funding, to career advice, to guidance for new principal investigators. In 2020, the university gained Institutional accreditations for seven years from the NCAAA in the Kingdom. Gaining academic accreditation is a significant indicator of the quality of the education process.

The university is also conducting studies and research that matter to the region through international partnerships in the United States, Australia, Germany, Japan, Bulgaria, India, and Turkey. It has also adopted two research chairs supported by His Royal Highness Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Al-Saud, the Prince of Tabuk. These chairs are: Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Chair of advanced technological research for diagnosing diseases and their causes and ways to treat them; and Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Chair for studying youth issues and their development.

In the era where all aspects of advanced computing technologies are happening, the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology (FCIT) at the University of Tabuk is making its way towards excellence, progress and prosperity. The FCIT takes on itself the responsibility of graduating a pioneering generation, characterized by scientific ingenuity and skill creation, to be a strong competitor in related industries, beneficial to themselves and raising the banner of their homeland. Thus, since the establishment of the faculty in 1430 L 2009 G, it is moving in a confident pace towards academic excellence and research, with the use of a selection of experienced and competent faculty members, as well as an interactive learning environment that allows students to make the most of all teaching and training materials alike. The FCIT has adopted and implemented national and international standards for academic accreditation, which makes the faculty’s outcomes competitive with those of other colleges at local and regional universities. FCIT includes four departments: Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering and Information Systems.

Three programs at the FCIT gained academic accreditations from ABET, namely Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Information Technology and Bachelor of Computer Engineering. Gaining academic accreditation from national and international institutions is a significant indicator for the quality of the education process.
